The Journey

About Me

Segun Oluwayomi is an award-winning gospel saxophonist, respected music minister, and the visionary behind AlujoHymn Fusion, a unique blend of traditional African rhythms and cherished hymns. Born into a Christian family in Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria, he is the third-born and first son among six children of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Ajayi Ogunyomi. From early childhood, Segun’s journey was rooted in faith and music, building a foundation for a ministry that has grown to reach audiences around the globe.

Segun’s formal education began at Saint Barnabas Primary School, followed by Government Secondary School in Ilorin. He later studied music at Obafemi Awolowo University, where his passion for worship became a purpose-driven mission. His musical journey transformed profoundly in 1996 during a concert when he encountered God in a powerful way and received a mandate to worship through his saxophone. Married to Boluwatife Segun-Oluwayomi and blessed with three children, Segun is supported by his family as he continues to inspire and lead others in worship

Professional Experience

AlujoHymn Fusion

With over thirty years of experience, Segun is celebrated for his distinctive style, AlujoHymn Fusion, which draws on Colossians 3:16 to share the word of Christ through music. Known as the "Prophet on Sax," Segun’s performances often carry prophetic messages and create immersive spiritual experiences for listeners. His ministry has become a source of inspiration and transformation, reaching people with both music and direct, Spirit-led messages that touch listeners on a personal level.

Beyond traditional church venues, Segun’s outreach extends to the streets through Downtown Praise, a quarterly program he launched in 2014 to minister to those often overlooked—drug addicts and social outcasts in places like Ikeja Bridge and Ipodo in Lagos. This outreach has led to numerous life transformations, including the story of Andrew Eze, a former convict who has since become a pastor in Delta State.
